About EGX

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX), often known as the CASE (Cairo and Alexandria Stock Exchanges)  is one of the world's oldest stock exchanges with a history dating back over 100 years, with the Alexandria Stock Exchange being established in 1883, and the Cairo Stock Exchange in 1903.

The Egyptian Exchange is the only registered Stock Exchange in Egypt. EGX is a market operator specialized in listing and trading of equities, government bonds, corporate bonds and close ended mutual funds. Its mission is to operate a high quality market for the benefits of Egyptian and International clients, aiming to be world class and the premier capital market in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

 

EGX has been a board member of the World Federation of Exchanges since 2005.

Listed Companies

There are currently some 297 companies listed on the exchange. The exchange also hosts a number of market and sector indices of which the EGX30 Index is the main benchmark.
