Introduction
We, at Mulpha, believe that while continuing our business operations across Australia and Asia, we must not neglect our corporate responsibility. We acknowledge four important areas where we should develop our best practice, namely:
  • Environment
  • Community
  • Workplace
  • Marketplace
Environment

As a property developer, Mulpha maintains majority of the natural terrain and capitalises on the waterways, existing trees and vegetation in the effort to minimize earth cutting and filling and reduce surface water run off. We try to achieve this by preserving a large number of trees and try to maintain the shape of the land and the natural resources for our project development. In one of our flagship development, Leisure Farm Resort, its master plan was inspired by the Mind, Body & Soul concept in leveraging upon the natural beauty and splendor of the landscape to enhance the grandeur of the properties.

We incorporated eco-friendly elements throughout the whole project. Energy savings and lighting system are integrated into the entire segment of Mulpha's building design. The public and common areas are generally uses incandescent free lighting. Several buildings in LFR uses ponds and pools as water catchments as part of the passive ventilation system that serve as a cooling and evaporative method. Special roofing design is used to maximise cooling and conserve energy. We have also taken the special effort to transplant/ plant 300 – 600 new trees saplings and 250,000 flowers and scrubs annually to further enhance the development.

Workplace

At Mulpha, we always strive to maintain high standards of recruitment, development and retention of employees. Several measures were put into place as we aim to be a sustainable 'employer of choice'. We always put emphasis on health, safety and welfare of our employees. We also provide effective communication channels for our employees to air their grievances and work out a solution to overcome it. The company provides necessary training that are relevant and vital to our line of business in order to further develop and provide the employees with the skills and proficiency required. Sports and wellness programs are being incorporated into the company via the Mulpha Recreational Club to promote a healthier lifestyle. The employees are always encouraged to take part in the programmes chosen by the company.

Community

It is our responsibility as a caring corporate citizen to give back to the community and raise awareness on social welfare programmes that affect our society. In 2008, we have participated in Rat Race, an annual event organised by Bursa Malaysia. Proceedings from this event are channeled towards charity.

The Company also initiated the 'Arts for Health' concept which encourages staff members to actively bring cheers and ease the burdens faced by sick children all around Kuala Lumpur and Klang Valley region. The programme primary function is to promote the role of arts in improving health (physical & mental) and well being of individuals. 10 programmes were conducted in four hospitals in 2008, which are, Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Hospital Selayang, Pusat Perubatan Universiti Malaya and Hospital Kajang. In total, more than 250 hospitalised children participated in the sessions conducted by our artist.

Mulpha Sanctuary Cove (Developments) Pty Limited, a subsidiary of Mulpha Australia, is a partner of Project 88, a house and land donation supporting the Foundations of former rugby union Wallaby, George Gregan and champion golfer, Adam Scott. Project 88 was successfully auctioned in March 2008 raising $AU1 million for the charities.

Marketplace
